Shoujo Kakumei Utena ~Itsuka Kakumeisareru Monogatari~

Revolutionary girl Utena ~The story of the to-be revoultion~ is a Sega Saturn visual novel based on the Anime "Revolutionary Girl Utena". RGU is one of my favourite animes ever so I was SUPERRR excited to play this. The story takes place somewhere between episode 8 and 9 of the anime and it follows a (nameable) transfer student as she enrolls in Ohtori Academy alongside a mysterious older girl who has apparently returned to the school after suffering from a heart ilness.

The game has around 10 endings, most of which are romantic. Unfortunately usually MC-chan ends up transfering out of the school and her love interest either doesnt reciprocate her feelings or they end up apart forever...(I'm a happy endings girlie so it hurts me a bit on the inside ok...) there are also some duel/arc specific endings like the Black Rose or Akio ending. I know I don't sound very enthusiastic but I actually enjoyed them quite a lot. One thing that I feel could be a problem to some is that most of the routes have very little actual new content so you end up having to skip 80% of the game everytime you start on new route, to me this just means less reading so I don't really mind but I can see how it can be annoying lol

In the end I can definitely say I enjoyed it although it did feel kind of repetitve at times (technically the same can be said about the anime with its monster of the week structure but anyway) my favorite ending is probably Anthy's because of the bath sce- I mean the cool duel and stuff....But yeah it's a great game so if you're an Utena fan go play it, even if it's just to hear Utena sing rnbu revolution -u-
